Ground Rules - South Seattle Saddle Club

Amended 4.16.25
  1. Maintain an open roadway around arena for emergency vehicles. The gate be closed but not locked for overnight camping.
  2. All horses shall be kept at a walk outside the main arena and round-pen. 
  3. Horses shall be tied to trailers or mature trees only. 
  4. Do not wash horses by the bathrooms. 
  5. No pets/horses near picnic area. 
  6. No horse abuse on grounds. 
  7. Juniors (17 and under) will not handle or ride stallions. 
  8. Unruly horses are not allowed in the arena or to take part in activities. 
  9. Horses not allowed in horseshoe  pit  areas and designated  NO  HORSES ALLOWED areas.
  10. No unattended horses. No overnight horses in round-pen at game shows. 
  11. Everyone will keep out of the way of competing contestants/horses. 
  12. Put all equipment away immediately after use. 
  13. All dogs must be on a leash with a handler or tied at all times. 
  14. Dog owners must pick up droppings. Horse owners spread manure before leaving grounds.
  15. Alcoholic beverages shall be kept at campsites during shows.  
  16. LEAVE NO TRACE. Please take your campsite garbage with you
  17. Campfires allowed in the club fire pits and portable fire pits with club approval.
  18. No fireworks allowed without club approval.  
  19. Do not wash vehicles on club grounds. 
  20. Report any damage or broken equipment to the club immediately. 
  21. Non-members must sign a waiver prior to riding or camping.
  22. No off-road vehicles allowed on club grounds unless approved for club event.
  23. Arena will be opened at the discretion of Grounds Manager. 
  24. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Junior riders with means and intentions to ride on club grounds must have signed permission from their parent or guardian.
  25. Helmets are recommended (or required, depending on event policy) for all riders under the age of 18.
  26. Members must follow arena and trail safety guidelines, including yielding to other riders and maintaining control of their horses.
  27. No reckless riding, rough housing, or endangering others while on club property.
  28. No cell phone use while handling a horse inside the arena.
  29. No hunting on SSSC property.
  30. Personal items are not to be stored on club property without permission. South Seattle Saddle Club is not responsible for any property left on grounds.
